Whats new at GATX?

A new milestone in the fleet diversification: GATX has received an order from Lenzing AG for 22 Snps cars for round timber transport

Lenzing AG has already been using freight cars from GATX for many years. Now the Austrian fibre manufacturer has ordered 22 cars type Snps from us. These freight cars will be customized exactly in accordance with the requirements and wishes of the customer: So, for example, the car length and stanchion distances will perfectly match the transport of 3-6 metre long round timber.

GATX Rail Europe Announces Leadership Change

GATX Rail Europe (GRE) today announced that Mr. Johannes Mansbart, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of GATX Rail Europe will leave the company effective January 1, 2019. Mr. Johann Feindert, currently Chief Operating Officer (COO) of GATX Rail Europe will assume the CEO role subsequent to Mr. Mansbart’s departure.

Good service and a competent customer services department are essential for GATX – all our customers are aware of this. To ensure that all our employees are always up-to-date, we sent all our Customer Service Representatives (in short, "CSRs") into the maintenance workshop for one week: There the CSRs looked over the shoulders of the workshop team and learnt a lot about the challenges with which the workshops are confronted.

60 Shimmns-ttus for ArcelorMittal: The result of a close international cooperation

From March 2018 on, our new Jumbos will be on the track: The lighter and volume-optimized tank cars have a tank capacity of 98 m³ – this is 3 m³ more load capacity than former cars on the market! The resulting cost advantages will delight our future lessees.
