At this year’s transport logistic trade fair in Munich, GATX Rail Europe celebrated major milestones and reinforced its position as a leading full-service railcar lessor in Europe. With over 30,000 railcars in our fleet and 25,000 tank containers operated by our sister company Trifleet, we continue to expand our high-quality and diverse fleet to meet the evolving needs of our customers – enabling the sustainable movement of goods across Europe and beyond.
The fair itself saw record attendance across the industry and our booth was no exception, welcoming over 1,000 guests during the week.
Celebrating our Fleet: New Railcar Type Slnps and the 30,000th Railcar
A special highlight of the fair was the presentation of our latest railcar type, the Slnps, which is engineered for enhanced versatility and transport capacity. We also proudly showcased our 30,000th railcar, designed by Austrian artist Manuel Skirl, featuring striking blue lines on a lime green background. His art is meant to leave room for interpretation, but as Johann Feindert, CEO of GATX Rail Europe, aptly noted, “The design reminded me of a fingerprint, symbolizing the personal touch we provide to our customers and our commitment to service excellence.”
Sustainability in Action: 100+ Green Tickets Issued
Sustainability was also front and center in our event participation: we issued more than 100 Green Tickets. These contributed directly to charitable causes through a €4.20 surcharge per ticket, with proceeds split equally between two trusted partners selected by the fair:
• BayWa Stiftung: Supporting climate-resilient forest transformation projects in Bavaria
• myclimate: Funding biogas installations in India to reduce deforestation and emissions
Commitment to the Future of Freight
Alongside our expanded fleet and digital innovation showcase, we enjoyed many valuable conversations with customers and industry partners. The event culminated in a well-attended networking reception, highlighting our shared commitment to the future of sustainable freight transport.
See You in 2027
The next transport logistic will take place at the end of April 2027 – and we’re already looking forward to reconnecting with the rail logistics community.
