GATX Rail Europe used InnoTrans 2026 to unveil a new tipping container system developed by GÖKRAIL in close collaboration with GATX Rail Europe and KBB Bahndienstleistungen. Designed specifically for the efficient handling of bulk materials used in railway construction, the solution attracted strong interest throughout the show, with many visitors stopping by the lime green container at Track T4/16.
Built for Efficient Railway Construction Operations
The system is designed to support safe and quick unloading in either direction. A PLC-controlled hydraulic system lifts each container to the required angle, while an integrated generator allows operation independently of external power sources.
Safe access, remote operation, and ease of maintenance were also considered from the beginning of the development process. The result is a flexible, purpose-built solution designed around the realities of day-to-day railway construction operations.
Strong Response at InnoTrans
The new tipping container solution generated strong interest throughout the show and became a visible meeting point for customer discussions at the GATX Rail Europe stand. “The feedback at InnoTrans confirmed that there is strong demand for flexible solutions that simplify bulk material handling in daily operations,” says Sebastian Engels, Sales Manager at GATX Rail Europe.
Now that the design is complete, production is underway for GATX Rail Europe. The strong response at InnoTrans highlighted the concept’s relevance and the value of close collaboration between GÖKRAIL, KBB Bahndienstleistungen, and GATX Rail Europe in developing solutions that meet operational and customer needs.
